Colonel Donald Cuthbert Choisser
May 20, 1931 - June 24, 2017

Colonel Donald Cuthbert Choisser, USAF, Retired, passed away on June 24, 2017 at the age 86. He was born on May 20, 1931 to Cuthbert and Catherine Choisser in Chicago, Illinois. Don graduated from the University Of Arizona College Of Pharmacy and worked briefly in his father's drug store before joining the Air Force, where he served as an aerospace physiologist. He was a NASA Project Mercury participant and proud of his work on the design of a pressurized suit for high altitude flying. His last duty station was as Command Physiologist at Randolph AFB, and during his 30 years of service, he was the recipient of many awards, including the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal, both with two oak leaf clusters. After retirement, Don remained active in the Texas Pharmacy Association, and enjoyed teaching pharmacy classes. He appreciated books on military history and all things related to aeronautics. He was active in a local wine group and could spend hours talking about and tasting various wines, and would probably encourage all to raise a glass of bubbly to toast his life. Don was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Hal. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ann, his two stepsons, Jon Krick, wife Brigid, their daughters, Alexandra and Olivia, and Jay Krick, wife Katherine, and their son, Logan. He is also survived by his sister, Kay Ward, Anaheim, California and sister-in-law, Marilyn Choisser and her children of Austin, Texas.

Visitation will be at Alamo Funeral Chapel, 624 N. Alamo, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Monday, July 10, 2017. A graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to: Voluntary Services, Audie L. Murphy Veterans Hospital, ATTN: Joyce Brown, 7400 Merton Minton Blvd., San Antonio, Texas 78229
