2017 Award Winners


Bowl of Hygeia: Chris Alvarado, Pharm.D., Oakdell Pharmacy

 

Recognizes a pharmacist who continually has demonstrated professional excellence and made significant public service contributions to their communities. The award is sponsored by the American Pharmacists Association Foundation, the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations and Boehringer Ingelheim.

Pharmacist of the Year: Carol Reagan, Pharm.D.

 

Recognizes a pharmacist who has made outstanding contributions to the Texas Pharmacy Association and its mission during the past year.

Distinguished Young Pharmacist: Jacob Daggett, Pharm.D., Texas Rehabilitation Hospital

 

Recognizes a pharmacist who has graduated within the last ten years and has demonstrated leadership excellence; made important contributions to their community and the Texas Pharmacy Association; and advanced the practice of pharmacy.  The award is sponsored by Pharmacists Mutual.

Distinguished Student Pharmacist: Kassie Pfluger, University of North Texas

 

Recognizes a fourth-year pharmacy student who has demonstrated leadership excellence, made important contributions to their community and the Texas Pharmacy Association; and advanced the practice of pharmacy.

Distinguished Pharmacy Technician: Theresa Day, CPhT,University of North Texas

 

Recognizes a pharmacy technician who has demonstrated excellence and supported the advancement of the practice of pharmacy.

 

Generations RX Award: Andrea Laguado,University of Texas at Austin

 

Recognizes an individual, organization or company for education and/or advocacy initiatives around prescription drug abuse. The award is sponsored by Cardinal Health and administered by the Alliance for Patient Medication Safety.





 


Award Criteria


To qualify, nominees for TPA awards must have made significant contributions to the profession which meet the criteria for the award and which align with the mission of the Association; be members of the Association in good standing;and be in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
