Texas Pharmacy Foundation Silent Auction

What’s “silent” but always causes a lot of noise and fun?

Answer:  The Texas Pharmacy Foundation Silent Auction, of course!

The Texas Pharmacy Foundation (TPF) was chartered by the State of Texas in 1970 by a petition from charter members and past presidents of the Texas Pharmacy Association. For those of you who might not be familiar with the TPF, the mission is to advance the profession of pharmacy through student scholarships and research projects. Since 2001, the Foundation has presented over $100,000 to pharmacy students in Texas.  Everyone knows that the cost of pharmacy school continues to rise and more and more students are leaving school heavily burdened with debt – some times as much $150,000. Currently, the Foundation manages six general scholarships and several named scholarships. In order to continue helping our students, the Foundation has an annual fund-raising campaign to raise money.

Our silent auction is coming up and we need your help! Each year, the Foundation auctions donated items at the TPA Conference & Expo and that is where you all come in! Last year you helped raise approximately $11,000. Working together again this year, I know we can exceed that. This year our goal is $50,000. Think what a difference this could make for the students and for our profession. Won’t you help us reach this goal?

Our theme this year is “Fiesta,” and we are once again asking you to donate items for the auction on which you would like to bid – baskets featuring Tex-Mex items, gift cards from restaurants and stores that could be used statewide, sports team baskets, wine or margarita baskets, or other baskets that invoke the spirit of a Texas-size Fiesta. The possibilities are unlimited!  We challenge the students from each college/school of pharmacy and each local association to participate for good, old-fashioned, Texas-sized bragging rights for best basket!

As a reminder, The Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt education/research corporation.  This means that donations and contributions are tax-deductible.

What better way to fulfill your obligation than to support the future of our profession, the students?
