Speaker Spotlight:

Michelle Zadrozny, LCSW, brings 20+ years of social enterprise, community health, and innovative partnership-building expertise to her social work practice. In 2013, Michelle developed and implemented Aspire, a comprehensive community-based Employee Assistance Program for H.A.N.D., a non-profit home care agency based in Austin TX. The project focused on creating a culture of wellness and serving the challenging needs of the low-income, part time, home care workforce through case management, counseling and training. Aspire won ‘Innovative Program of the Year’ by Leading Age Texas in 2015. Out of that work, Michelle launched the Central Texas Home Care Coalition, where she collaborates with other home care agencies to alleviate the stress on family caregivers through a variety of innovative community based social work services.   Michelle has provided numerous trainings and workshops during the course of her EAP and HR consulting career, with a focus on leadership development and self-care.

Michelle’s previous organizational clients include Goodwill Industries of Central TX, United Way of Greater Austin, It’s Time Texas, American Council of Engineering Companies (with OWLS), and the National Guard (with OWLS). Through her work with Alliance Work Partners, Michelle’s EAP and consulting clients included the Dallas Cowboys, Travis County, TXDoT, and the City of Austin.

Michelle will be presenting on the importance of self-care, which is the practice of taking action to preserve or improve one's own mental, spiritual, and physical health. Self-care is vital for preventing professional burn out, mental health struggles, and/or relapse. Specifically, Michelle will be discussing the importance of implementing proper self-care including: setting healthy interpersonal and professional boundaries, utilizing healthy coping skills, and stress reduction strategies.  Michelle will also be providing guidance on how to discuss your mental health or substance use issues with their children and loved ones.
