Naloxone for Opiate Harm Reduction: The Pharmacist’s Role (1 Hour)

1. Describe the role of naloxone in opioid harm reduction

2. Identify patients at risk for opioid overdose

3. Select an appropriate naloxone formulation based on patient-specific factors

4. Educate patients and caregivers regarding naloxone administration

5. Recognize the signs and symptoms of an acute opioid overdose

6. Administer naloxone to a patient experiencing an acute opioid overdose
