Texas Pharmacy Association President-elect Raj Chhadua and CEO Debbie Garza, joined by TSHP President Tammy Cohen, met Se9tenber 27 with representatives from the Texas Medical Association (TMA), including the physician chairman of their legislative committee. TPA and TMA discussed legislative priorities for the 2019 legislative session and seemed to find common ground on collaborative practice as well as expanding access to naloxone. TPA looks forward to continuing the dialogue and exploring how we can work together to improve patient care. TPA and TMA also discussed the prescription monitoring program (PMP), as both associations have been invited to testify October 3 at the Joint Interim Committee on Prescribing & Dispensing Controlled Substances.
