Senator Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham), chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services, filed legislation March 8 to address two of pharmacy's top priorities for the 86th Legislative Session.
SB 2261, relating to the practices and operation of pharmacy benefit managers and providing for administrative penalties, is a companion bill to HB 2231 by Rep. Tom Oliverson (R-Cypress).
SB 2262, relating to delivery of outpatient prescription drug benefits under certain public benefit programs including Medicaid, is a companion to HB 3388 introduced earlier this week by Rep. J.D. Sheffield (R-Gatesville).
TPA thanks Sen. Kolkhorst for supporting this legislation and looks forward to advancing these significant priorities that will benefit pharmacists and their patients.
