The Texas Pharmacy Association participated in a stakeholders' meeting Thursday with the Texas Medicaid Vendor Drug Program (VDP) Deputy Director Gina Marie Muñiz and staff to discuss several bills before the legislature. Included are bills that would carve-out pharmacy benefits from the MCO model and return them to a fee-for-service model. The VDP was receptive to suggestions the state could save money and improve healthcare by changing the pharmacy reimbursement model.
