Texas Pharmacy Association CEO Debbie Garza, R.Ph. attended the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations (NASPA) 2019 Spring Meeting held March 21-23 in conjunction with the APhA meeting in Seattle. At the well-attended event, 37 state association executives had the opportunity to hear directly from APhA CEO Tom Menighan and President Nicki Hilliard to discuss pharmacy issues and the value of state pharmacy associations.
Topics discussed at the NASPA meeting included pharmacists’ role in the opioid epidemic, enhancing member engagement, how to advance pharmacists’ patient-care services with payers, and pharmacists prescriptive authority.
“I always enjoy the opportunity to share ideas and collaborate with my peers from other states,” Garza said.
