Debbie Garza, Chief Executive Officer of the Texas Pharmacy Association, is one of 15 healthcare leaders appointed to serve on the Texas Health Services Authority's (THSA) Collaboration Council. The purpose of the Collaboration Council is to advise THSA and to develop consensus among key stakeholders on the planning and implementation of statewide health information exchange.
"As key members of the healthcare team, it's important for pharmacists and pharmacies to be part of health information exchange," Garza said. "I'm pleased to have the opportunity to share pharmacy's perspective with other providers, hospitals, managed care organizations, state officials, and other participants in the council."
THSA is a public-private partnership established by the Texas Legislature for the purpose of promoting, implementing and facilitating the secure electronic exchange of health information.
