APhA President Kicks Off TPA Council Meetings

The Texas Pharmacy Association’s Councils met February 12, beginning with a joint meeting that included the TPA Board of Directors. Special guest Brad Tice of Aspen RxHealth shared details of the company’s recent expansion from Florida into Texas and explained how it offers a new and innovative way for pharmacists to be paid for providing enhanced medication services by connecting to patients via an app-based platform.

Tice, who is the 2019–2020 President of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), later provided updates about the national association’s activities. He highlighted public policy efforts concerning federal provider status, DIR fees, payment reform, and the upcoming June Supreme Court decision concerning PBMs. Tice also outlined APhA’s commitment to addressing pharmacists’ well-being through initiatives such as the Well-Being Index (available online using invitation code APhA).
