The Texas Pharmacy Association joins others in sadness over the recent death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and the resulting violence and racial tensions throughout our nation. Unfortunately, as acknowledged by the DEA, a number of community pharmacies across the country have been damaged or destroyed by looting. Our thoughts are also with our counterparts at the Arkansas Pharmacists Association, whose office caught fire Monday after protests turned violent in downtown Little Rock near the state capitol.

As the only pharmacy association in Texas that represents all pharmacy professionals in all practice settings, we recognize the remarkable diversity of our profession, as well as the diverse patient population that our members serve. Thank you to everyone who works so hard every day in various minority communities to ensure the health and safety of all Texans. Our patients expect and deserve equal and fair treatment from their pharmacies, and TPA remains committed to supporting that mission. Our professional ethics demand it.
