Governor
Greg Abbott has proclaimed October 2023 to be Pharmacist Month in
Texas. This recognition coincides with the celebration of October as
American Pharmacists Month.
In his proclamation, the Governor
highlighted pharmacists' accessibility and their impact on public health
in Texas. “Ultimately, medicine is useful only to the extent that it is
accessible, and pharmacists ensure that medications remain available to
the masses," Abbott said. He also noted pharmacists' extensive
education and expertise.
“Given their impact on individuals,
families, and our society, pharmacists should be held in the highest
personal and professional esteem,” Abbott wrote. “I encourage all Texans
to recognize the outstanding work of pharmacists and pharmacy
technicians.”
