Statement
One of the first words in my vocabulary was the word “pharmacist.” Growing up with a father who had a more than 50-year career in pharmacy, along with two brothers who also became pharmacists, it is the family business. Throughout my 28-year career as a pharmacist, I can say that I have seen the good, the bad, and the sometimes ugly in terms of change in the pharmacy profession. I have advocated throughout my career for the value that pharmacists can bring to the variety of settings in which we work.
The last two years as a member of the TPA Board as the speaker-elect and now speaker of the House of Delegates have been incredibly rewarding and have allowed me to interact with some of the brightest leaders in our profession in Texas. I would love to continue my participation on the Board as the president-elect. I am both honored and humbled to be considered for this position, and I hope to build upon what previous presidents have accomplished as we work together to move our profession forward.
