Statement

My name is Minal Thakkar and I am running for a director position. I am a healthcare supervisor, pharmacist, and preceptor for Walgreens in Houston, where I have worked for 20 years. During this time, I have gained valuable experience and insight in the profession. I have served on TPA’s Public Policy Council and Association Affairs Council along with other workgroups to help shape our public policy agenda. I have served on Texas Federation of Drug Stores to help advance the pharmacy profession legislatively.

My vision for the profession in Texas is to allow pharmacists and technicians to be able to practice at the top of their license. I want to ensure we gain reimbursement for pharmacist-provided services within our scope of practice. I want to expand patient access to pharmacy patient care services. I want to build a united pharmacy profession.

I am committed to helping the organization and profession advance and evolve to meet the ever-changing landscape of pharmacy. I look forward to doing my part for the profession and working alongside others in this organization to bring forward this vision of pharmacy in Texas! We can advance our profession together!
