A lot has happened recently at the federal level regarding drug pricing, PBMs, and other initiatives related to pharmacy. If you practice in community pharmacy, hospital, or long-term care, you will want to know how this affects you and your practice.

This one-hour session will provide pharmacists with an update on federal legislation and regulation that affects pharmacy practice relating to Medicare Part B, Medicare Part D and Medicaid. Major legislation was just enacted that will make it fairer for pharmacists that participate in Part D. In addition, CMS just announced the names of those Part B drugs that will be part of the negotiation program for 2028. We will also review other federal initiatives affecting pharmacists, including the new drug models that have been launched by the Trump administration which will include Medicare payment for weight loss drugs. There will also be an update on the latest related to 340B.

Our guest speaker will be John M. Coster, Ph.D., R.Ph., former head of the federal Medicaid Pharmacy Program and former Senior Advisor to the Medicare Drug Rebate and Negotiation Group at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
