Pharmacy industry leaders gathered in Austin October 2 for the second meeting of the TPA Pharmacy Partners Council. Chief Executive Officer Debbie Garza formed the group earlier this year to act as a corporate advisory council and provide a forum for corporate and association leaders to convene and foster robust dialogue that will broaden and strengthen shared priorities to further the pharmacy profession.
The meeting began with a presentation of opinion research for Texas voters regarding pharmacy and pharmacy services, a review of TPA pharmacy practice initiatives in partnership with the Department of State Health Services, and a discussion of legislative priorities.
Attendees included representatives from Amgen, AstraZeneca, Cardinal Health, GlaxoSmithKline, H-E-B, McKesson, NACDS, Pfizer, Pharmacists Mutual and Walgreens.
Pharmacy Partners Council members attending the October 2018 meeting included TPA Board member Jay Bueche of H-E-B, Mary Staples of NACDS, TPA Past President Carole Hardin-Oliver of Walgreens, Richard Evans of Astra Zeneca, Amber Pearce of Pfizer, Justin Hudman of Amgen, and Tim James of Pharmacists Mutual.
