Texas Pharmacy Association President Elect Raj Chhadua was among the guests at an October 22 candidate fundraising reception hosted by TPA Member and PharmPAC Board Member Steve Rodriguez at the historic Scott-Barker House in Melissa, Texas (just northeast of Dallas). Chhadua and Rodriguez had the opportunity to speak with State Representative Scott Sanford (R-McKinney), who serves on the House Insurance Committee, and State Senator Van Taylor (R-Plano), who is running for Congress.
Among the topics of conversation were the need for PBM reform and hopes for legislation in Texas next session, as well as recent federal legislation prohibiting so-called pharmacist gag clauses.
"Representative Sanford is a friend of Texas pharmacy and business," Rodriguez said. "He is dedicated to lowering drug costs for consumers and fighting for Texas businesses."
