The Texas Pharmacy Association’s Debbie Garza, CEO, and Stephanie Chiarello, division director, public affairs, have spent the last few weeks meeting with state legislators to welcome them to the Capitol and to share our vision for pharmacy this legislative session. Among the recent visits, it was a special treat to be able to meet with returning Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick. During the past week, Garza and Chiarello also met with Rep. Todd Hunter, chair of the Calendars Committee, and Rep. Stephanie Klick, a nurse who discussed with us the role pharmacists can play in improving health outcomes and lowering health care costs. Texas Pharmacists will have an organized opportunity to meet with their representatives during Pharmacy Day at the Capitol, February 26.
