Statement

My name is Shawn Ahmad, and I'm running for a director position because I’m dedicated to TPA's excellence and advancing the practice of pharmacy. With a proven track record as an active TPA member for more than nine years, I have contributed to the House of Delegates, several councils and committees, and serve as a Trustee on the Texas Pharmacy Foundation Board. I also played a key role in creating the SPARx program and TPA-ASP Cup for student pharmacists. At conferences, you will find me engaged in fundraising, helping with competitions, and event setup.

I’m a strong advocate for pharmacy, and have met with several elected officials, including mayors, state representatives, senators, and even Governor Abbot. As PIC of an independent pharmacy in a primary care clinic, I work alongside other health care providers. If elected, I’ll work tirelessly to advocate for legislative changes that empower our profession and ensure fair compensation for our expertise in dispensing and other services that we can provide. I’ll also look for opportunities to unite all pharmacists and collaborate with other health care providers.

I am honored to have received both the Distinguished Young Pharmacist and Distinguished Student Pharmacist awards from TPA. With your vote, I’ll bring my passion and dedication to the TPA Board to help advance our profession.
