Statement:
I am running for speaker-elect of the House. I have served as a delegate for Texas Pharmacy Association and American Pharmacists Association. I have had the pleasure of working on resolutions with the Texas delegation to APhA and Tarrant County delegation to TPA. I have had also had the extreme honor of working with the other colleges/schools of pharmacy experiential deans and faculties on updating the Texas Administrative Code regarding the duties of pharmacy intern trainees through the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. It is through our resolutions and our working with other groups on resolutions that we move the profession of pharmacy forward and preserve our sacred relationship with patients.
I will work with the TPA Board, the staff and the members to make sure that TPA has a clear and consistent message. Through serving as the speaker-elect and then the speaker, I will have the opportunity to plan the agenda and guide the process for hearing resolutions. I will study Robert’s Rules and apply them so that every member’s voice will be heard. I will ensure that there is order and a process. I will then communicate the House of Delegates actions to all TPA members.
