Description: Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians can directly address leadership challenges with the knowledge and tools to adopt servant leadership principles. This session will focus on developing active listening, fostering collaboration, and creating a culture of trust—skills essential to improving team performance and, by extension, patient care. Participants will learn how to empower their team members, reduce inefficiencies, and create an environment conducive to better patient outcomes. As a result, participants will be more adept at educating their teams, optimizing workflows, and improving patient interactions, ultimately contributing to enhanced therapeutic results, increased patient satisfaction, and reduced medication errors.

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists and technicians will be able to:

  1. Develop strategies to empower team members, promote accountability, and drive innovation, resulting in improved teamwork and operational efficiency.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to align leadership practices with a patient-focused approach, optimizing workflows and communication to enhance safety, accuracy, and overall patient satisfaction.
  3. Identify and address common barriers to effective leadership in pharmacy settings, enabling them to build high-performing teams capable of delivering exceptional care.
  4. Create a workplace culture that values ongoing professional development and continuous improvement, ensuring sustained success in both business operations and patient outcomes.
