The presentation will assist pharmacists in evaluating the most recent guideline update an emerging treatments. This will help pharmacists make recommendations and changes to therapy in line with current evidenced based practices. The purpose of the session is to review recent guideline updates by the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology. The goal of the session is to augment pharmacist understanding of treatment and management of blood pressure. The knowledge and skills to be gained from the session is utilization of relevant risk calculators to guide treatment, patient education on at home Blood pressure monitoring, and effective management of blood pressure treatment, including medications in the pipeline.

- Identify emerging antihypertensive therapies and drugs in the pipeline, and assess their potential role in future patient care.
