| Texas Student Pharmacist Self-Care Championship |
|
About the CompetitionHistoryThe National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations (NASPA), the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), and the Nonprescription Medicines Academy (NMA) partnered to launch the Student Pharmacist Self Care Championship. The event promotes active learning of self-care topics to the participants as well as the audience. How It WorksThe Texas Championship is conducted annually by TPA at our annual conference. The competition features teams from the state’s colleges/schools of pharmacy. These teams compete head-to-head in an event similar to a quiz bowl and the "Jeopardy" game show. The questions are developed by the NMA faculty and focus on self-care patient treatment and basic knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC) medications. Pharmacists and other attendees in the audience have the opportunity to obtain CE from the event while cheering on their favorite school. Teams include four currently enrolled student pharmacists from each college of pharmacy, selected by their peers to represent their school.
